Innovation is the future of chemistry. This could be the motto of the 1,400 Arkema researchers who spend their days developing ever more efficient, environmentally friendly products. Far from languishing in a laboratory filing cabinet, these innovations are changing your every day life. This new webzine will help you to discover our approach to innovation and its practical uses.
This first edition focuses on biochemistry, a key component of sustainable development. Fossil fuels will inevitably run out, meaning that we need to implement a “reasonable” use of the raw materials needed in chemistry. By using plant-based materials rather than oil to create chemical products, optimising manufacturing processes and recycling waste, we can develop cutting edge chemistry that takes environmental concerns into account from the outset...

The increased growth in bioplastics should improve our understanding of the ecological and technological challenges of bio products, made from plant-based materials rather than oil. Sportswear, electronics, cars and much more: bioplastics are everywhere, if you know where to look…
